Northern Light

This wall decor is composed of dozens of narrow, hand-rolled strips. Each roll is identical in form but different in texture. Placed side by side in a steady rhythm, they read like quiet sequences, like thoughts which are wraped, stored and aligned.

The panel functions as eco-friendly wall decor for offices, transforming discarded materials into a still and tactile surface.

The palette remains intentionally muted. Soft greys and off-white tones create a surface that withdraws rather than announces itself. It is uniform in appearance but rich in nuance.

The materials come from discarded sources:
vintage vitrage fabric, a frame from an old painting, textured wallpaper pages from a sample book and small glass bugle beads used as barely visible accents.

Some rolls resemble miniature tree trunks; others carry the fine grain of textile or the slight sheen of coated paper.

Process

The strips are cut, rolled and fixed into identical cylindrical elements. By keeping the form constant and allowing only the textures to shift, the panel stays visually silent and materially layered. The glass beads introduce tiny pauses micro-accents.

This rolling technique is adaptable to a wide range of materials from corporate waste streams: textile cuttings, printed samples, wallpaper, soft plastics.
The form stays consistent; the identity comes from the material provided by the client.

Application
