Styled photos can be compared with packshots, but unlike simple product photos on a white background, some styling of a product has been applied to them. It can be flowers, fabrics or objects that help tell the story of the product of show the ingredients of it.
Photos with styling are images that promote the product in a simple and effective way. There is little art direction behind it, which means that these types of photos can be seen somewhere in between packshots and advertising photos.
As soon as a set is ready, I make one or more photos of the styled product as agreed beforehand.
In many cases I do the styling myself, but for large productions or specific products I work with a number of freelance stylists. Because it takes more time to style and edit a product, rates are also slightly higher than for packshots.
